Connect and translate your Ghost website with Smartcat

Overview

You can connect your Ghost website to Smartcat and translate it into up to 280 languages with AI translation. This guide walks you through generating the translation in Smartcat and then adding the code snippet to your Ghost site.

Translate your Ghost website in Smartcat

1. Open your Workspace and click the Translate a website shortcut

2. Specify both the source and the target languages

3. Select multiple target languages if you need them

4. In the Website URL field, paste the URL of your Ghost page

5. Click Preview my website to open the translated version of your Ghost page

6. Use the toolbar above to switch between languages

7. Adjust the preview settings using the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the screen

8. In the Translation mode section, specify how the translation renders for your website visitors

9. On the Language selector tab, choose how the language selector best fits your Ghost page design

10. Under Preview settings, specify how you want to view the translated page

11. Under Publish settings, select your Published Languages and copy the JavaScript code for publishing your translated page

12. To review the translation, click Edit to open the CAT editor

13. Review your translation, which is split automatically into segments

14. Make any edits you need

15. Confirm each segment translation before moving to the next

16. To return to your website preview, click Back

17. Publish your website translation by clicking the button next to the address field

18. Click Copy code to save the code to your clipboard

Your Ghost website translation is now generated and the publishing code is copied.

Add the code snippet in Ghost

📌 Add the Smartcat code snippet to the header of the page to ensure the Smartcat website translator works correctly.

1. Open Ghost, open settings, and go to the Code Injection area of the Ghost admin

2. Paste your JavaScript translation code

3. Once the code is added, click Validate and continue in Smartcat

Your Ghost website is now connected to Smartcat and serving translated pages to your visitors.
