Connect and translate your Tumblr website with Smartcat

Overview

You can AI-translate your Tumblr website into up to 280 languages with Smartcat. This guide shows you how to generate a translated version of your Tumblr blog, review it in the CAT editor, and publish it by adding a JavaScript snippet to your Tumblr theme.

Translate your Tumblr website

1. Open your Workspace and click the Translate a website shortcut

2. Specify both the source and the target languages. You can select multiple target languages if you need them

3. In the Website URL field, paste the URL of your Tumblr blog

4. Click Preview my website. Smartcat opens the translated version of your Tumblr page

5. Use the toolbar above the page to switch between languages

6. Adjust the preview settings using the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the screen

7. In the Translation mode section, specify how the translation is rendered for your website visitors

8. On the Language selector tab, choose how the language selector best fits your Tumblr page design

9. Under Preview settings, specify how you want to view the translated page

10. Under Publish settings, select your Published languages and copy the JavaScript code for publishing your translated page

11. To review the translation, click Edit to open the CAT editor

12. Review your translation, which is split automatically into segments. Make any edits you need and confirm each segment before moving to the next

13. To return to your website preview, click Back

14. Click Copy code to save the code to your clipboard

Your Tumblr translation is now generated and the publishing code is copied, ready to add to your blog.

Add the code to your Tumblr blog

📌 Add the Smartcat code snippet to the header of the page to ensure the Smartcat website translator works correctly.

1. Open your Tumblr blog Settings tab by clicking your blog's icon under the options list

2. Enable the Custom theme option and click Edit theme

3. Click Edit HTML on the left, under the theme's name, then paste the JavaScript code generated in Smartcat into the header

4. Once the code is added, click Validate and continue in Smartcat

Your translated Tumblr website is now published and available to your visitors.
