FAQs
What account types can I choose from when signing up?
Business/Individual (for an incorporated business or sole trader), Translation Agency (LSP), or Freelance Translator — each leads to a slightly different setup flow.
Can I sign up without creating a new password?
Yes — you can sign up with your work email or use Google, LinkedIn, or a ProZ account instead.
If I pick the wrong "primary use case" during signup, am I locked into that experience?
No — Smartcat asks for a primary use case only to tailor the initial experience; your account still supports all the listed use cases and more afterward.
Can I create more than one workspace after signup?
Yes — you name your first workspace during setup, but you can create additional workspaces later; there's no limit as part of your subscription.
Do LSPs and freelance translators go through the same setup steps as a business account?
No — each account type (Business/Individual, LSP, Freelance Translator) has its own short, tailored setup flow after you choose it.
