Smartcat Agent Builder
In this article, you'll learn how to set up an agent in Smartcat to streamline your content creation or translation process.
Step 1: Start by clicking the plus icon next to the Agent Library. This launches the agent builder.
Step 2: Name your agent. For this example, we're naming it "Video to Spanish Translator". This will be what you see on the homepage. You can also change your agent avatar here.
Step 3: Describe what the agent will do. This description will be visible on the homepage for you and others in your workspace. In this case, the description is "Translates videos to Spanish from English".
Step 4: Click on Specify Work Step and then Specify Workflow Steps and Skills.
Step 5: Define the stages and sequence your agent will follow. Add different skills or stages by clicking the button shown in the screenshot.
Step 6: Select your source language by clicking the appropriate area and choosing your source language(s) that this agent can translate from.
Step 7: Choose the language(s) you want to translate to.
Step 8: Click on Define Project Presets.
Step 9: Set the number of days after project creation and allow anyone using this agent to enter or edit their own project description. You can also set a naming convention and add client or subject fields.
Step 10: Click on Set Agent Grounding to proceed.
Step 11: In Agent Grounding, select the translation memories and glossary you want this type of project to produce. If you already have a translation memory for the selected source language, it will be added automatically. You can also select them manually.
Step 12: Under the Set Grounding Rules section, choose how you want to use those translation memories and set up your engines.
Step 13: Set up task assignments for how you want to invite suppliers for project tasks. If you want the AI to select it, leave AI assignment selected. If you want to skip and manually assign tasks, select Skip.
Step 14: Upload human collaborator assets. You can drag and drop or bring files over. This is useful for things like branding guidelines, style guides, or anything else that will help the human translator or reviewer with your content.
Step 15: Click Create your agent.
Step 16: Your new agent is now ready to go and can be found on the SmartCat homepage under Custom.
Step 17: Click on your agent to start producing great content for a global audience in your own custom way.
