Adding Team Members Basics

Welcome to your Smartcat team management walkthrough! This tutorial guides you on how to efficiently add team members, invite third parties, and manage vendors directly in Smartcat. You'll learn step-by-step how to view your team, send invites, leverage invitation links, and make the most of the vendor marketplace. By following along, you'll have your Smartcat workspace organized and ready for collaborative success.

Accessing Your Team

Step 1: Head to the Team page by clicking Team in the left sidebar or selecting the navigation icon labeled Team. Both options bring you to the same workspace team overview.

Step 2: Review your workspace members. The page lists everyone on your team, their roles, last online activity, and relevant details. Any linguists or pending invites appear under the Invited section.

Inviting Team Members

Step 1: Click Invite to start adding a new team member.

Step 2: Enter your invitee's email address in the prompt.

Step 3: Choose the role for your new member so they have the right permissions in your workspace.

Step 4: Hit Invite to send out the team invitation via email.

Using Invitation Links

Step 1: If it's easier, generate an invitation link instead. Select the new member's role and press Copy Link.

Step 2: Share this link anywhere—Slack, your company intranet, or other messaging platforms. The link is valid for 30 days.

Adding and Managing Vendors

Step 1: Go to the My Vendors section to view all your associated vendors.

Step 2: To add a new vendor, click Find a Vendor.

Step 3: Filter vendors by source language, target language, services offered, and subject matter expertise.

Step 4: Use productivity and activity filters to narrow your search further.

Step 5: To discover more about a vendor, select Learn More next to their profile. Here you'll see in-depth details, including rates per word and expertise areas.
