Sprechen sie Deutsch?

Thanks to our friends at Faust Translations, Smartcat is now available in German — in addition to Russian, English, Turkish, Chinese and Japanese. Share this news with your German-speaking colleagues, partners, and freelancers!

The Client Portal is here

Over the past few months, we’ve been working on a new secret product, the Client Portal, which allows translation agency customers to place, track, and pay for orders. If you attended the GALA conference in Munich in March, you might have seen the Client Portal functionality in action.

In April, we finally finished beta testing the Client Portal and are now ready to offer it to everyone. If you want to learn more about how to create your own client portal, sign up for a demo session.

With the latest update, we’ve added the ability to add translation memories along with uploaded documents.

Local wire transfers in 13 more countries

Users from 13 more countries can now receive money in their local bank account. Here is the full list of countries where local wire transfers are supported: USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Mexico, UAE, China, Turkey, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Poland, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Nepal, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, and El Salvador.

Connectors for a streamlined workflow

Smartcat now supports integrations with a host of popular third-party solutions including WordPress, Drupal, Magento, Git, SVN, and Mercurial via custom connectors.

The connectors allow you to automatically extract the content you want to localize, upload it directly to Smartcat, and have the translations sent back to the system. This will streamline your localization processes even further and save your project managers time.

Want to learn more about how the connectors work? Drop us a line at support@smartcat.ai.

Completed + Canceled

Сompleted and Сanceled projects are now shown under the same tab as ongoing ones. Use the Status filter on the right to see the projects you need.

New dialects

We’ve added support for a few more dialects, including Swiss Italian, Swiss French, as well as a host of Arabic dialects spoken in the UAE, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain.

Subtitles in TTML

In addition to the SRT format, you can now translate subtitles in the Timed Text Markup Language (TTML) format.

Revamped assignment page

Have you noticed that the assignment page has changed? We’ve not just made visual adjustments — the entire assignment mechanism has been redesigned to accommodate the new engine, so it will now work faster than ever. And that’s just the beginning — more changes are coming very soon!

  • You can upload JSON files from all popular browsers again. Create a project with a JSON file now.
  • When working on SRT files, the Subtitles tab in the editor is now displayed correctly.
  • The View mode message is now shown again in the Editor to users without editing rights.
  • When parsing some localization formats, the Unexpected end of file error no longer pops up.
