Addressing quality issues when dealing with freelancers

If you want to cancel payment or reduce the amount paid to a freelancer who provided services of inferior quality, we kindly ask you to do the following:

  1. Contact the freelancer in the project chat and let them know about your decision in an argumentative manner.
  2. If the freelancer agrees with you, please send us a screenshot of the message where they express agreement. We will change the amount of payment for you.
  3. If the freelancer does not agree or does not respond, send us the name of the project, the full name of the freelancer, the nature of the claim, your arguments, as well as the editor/reviewer’s comments, if any.
  4. After completion of the project, rate the freelancer’s work in the system.

We explore each situation, reach out to the freelancers in question, explain how Smartcat works to them, and take necessary actions, including hiding profiles of freelancers who do not perform well from the Marketplace results.
