Smartcat supports a wide variety of bilingual and monolingual files. The system detects the format automatically so you don’t have to do anything but drag and drop or select your files when creating a new translation/project.
If your file format isn’t supported the error message will be displayed and the file won’t get uploaded.

Please note that Microsoft Office formats are proprietary and complex. While we strive to provide as much compatibility as possible, some post-processing may be required for translated documents.

To help you avoid security risks, certain files, such as executable files and scripts, are also restricted from being uploaded.
